On behalf of ORNL Federal Credit Union (ORNL FCU) employees, the Credit Union made a $2000 donation to Knoxville’s American Heart Association (AHA) chapter.
Employees raised money for the AHA by hosting a chili cook-off, organizing a special jean day—where employees were able to donate money to wear jeans for a day—and by participating in the AHA Greater Knoxville Heart Walk held at World’s Fair Park on September 18, 2016. Combined, the employee fundraising efforts raised $1,000 and ORNL FCU matched the donation for a total contribution of $2,000.
At the AHA Greater Knoxville Heart Walk, ORNL FCU supports the tribute wall. The tribute wall is a place where people can share their stories and write about who they are walking for.
Heart disease is the number one leading cause of death in the United States for both men and women. ORNL FCU is proud to support the American Heart Association and their efforts to decrease heart disease both locally and nationally.
