The Helen Ross McNabb Center is a not-for-profit provider of mental health, substance abuse and social services. The Center often serves those who have little in the way of financial resources and struggle to provide the basics of food, clothing, and shelter for their families.
For more than 15 years, the Center has provided holiday gifts for children up to 18 years of age through their Dear Santa program. Children in need served by the Center and their siblings receive donated gifts since many of the families they serve can not afford to purchase gifts. Last year, the Center provided gifts and holiday parties to more than 2,200 East Tennessee children and families in need, but the need is still great.
In order to serve even more children and families in East Tennessee, the Center is expanding the Dear Santa program. Christmas in July will include a toy and donation drive to create a back stock of supply for the holiday season. By joining the Christmas in July Toy Drive, we can help to serve more children this Christmas and provide joyful memories to the families we serve.
Since 1948, the Helen Ross McNabb Center’s goal has always been to provide compassionate, confidential services in East Tennessee and Southeast Tennessee. Today the Center serves thousands of children and adults in 25 counties and its mission remains clear and simple; "Improving the lives of the people we serve."
